Joan of Arc

Saint Joan of Arc is the Patron Saint of the military, France, prisoners and people ridiculed for their piety. Joan of Arc was a 15th-century French peasant girl who at the age of 13 began experiencing visions and hearing divine voices, which she believed were sent by God. These visions urged her to help France which was in the midst of a complex conflict with England during the Hundred Years' War. At the age of 17, she obtained permission to join the French military and played a pivotal role in turning the tide of the war. Later she was captured by the English, tried for heresy, and subsequently burned at the stake at the tender age of 19 years old. Her feast day is May 30th.
