Catherine of Siena
Saint Catherine of Siena is the patron saint of nursing services, peace, fire prevention, Italy and Europe. Catherine was the youngest of 25 children, she was devoted to prayer, she had many mystical experiences and she later received the Stigmata representing the 5 wounds of Christ. She was given the title of Doctor of the Church in 1970 by Pope Paul VI, one of only four female “Doctors” of the Roman Catholic Church.
