James the Greater
Saint James the Greater is the patron saint of pilgrims, laborers and Spain. James was the son of Zebedee and brother of St. John the Apostle and was one of the three to witness the Transfiguration. He evangelized across Israel and the Roman kingdom and spread the Word for almost forty years in Spain until he returned to Jerusalem and became the first apostle to be martyred.
