Our Lady of Victory Medals

Our Lady of Victory refers to the time Pope Pius V organized a fleet to fight off the invading Turks in the year 1571 who greatly outnumberd them. The battle insued in the Gulf of Lepanto near Corinth. The Muslim fleet included over 12,000 Christian slaves. On the very same day, October 7th, the Rosary Confraternity of Rome met to pray for victory. When the news of victory and release of the slaves reached Rome, it was attributed to the intercession of Our Lady. So the Feast of Our Lady of Victory is October 7th in commemoration of Lepanto. Later Pope Gregory XIII changed it to the feast of the Most Holy Rosary. Buy a pendant or add on a chain to make it a necklace.
