Saint Thomas More is the Patron Saint of lawyers, fathers, adopted children, civil servants, politicians and difficult marriages. Thomas More was a lawyer turned politician and father of five, including one adopted daughter, who become a trusted advisor to King Henry VIII. He was intensely spiritual and would not support the king’s divorce from Catherine of Aragon nor acknowledge Henry as supreme head of the Church in England, breaking with Rome, and denying the pope as head.
